Special areas of focus

Life transitions

  • Change can be hard — and it can also be a sign of growth and forward motion. Moving to New York City, transitioning careers, or trying to make sense of a new long distance relationship can understandably create feelings of anxiety, sadness, stress, and depression. Therapy can be a non-judgemental place to unpack these feelings and help you move past stuck points. Our therapists will help you create a path forward and sort through the noise and discomfort during this important time in your life.

Depression

  • We believe finding a warm, patient, and non-judgmental therapist to unpack the challenges and obstacles that comes with depression shouldn’t be so difficult. We help individuals unpack patterns, stuck points, and behaviors through compassion focused, strength based, and interpersonal therapy. Though we do not provide medication, we frequently work in tandem with psychiatrists and physicians to optimize your care as well. Our goal is to help you feel seen, normalize your experience, and help you create a path forward.

Anxiety

  • If anxiety feels like it is running your life, it does not have to be this way, and you are not alone. Our therapists are highly specialized in helping people navigate the complexities of anxiety and how it impacts the body and mind. Utilizing a combination of ACT, CBT, and MBSR interventions, we will create a custom treatment plan with you to decrease symptoms and help you improve functioning in all areas of your life.

Chronic and serious illness

  • Navigating unexpected changes in our bodies and in others around us can take a serious toll on mental well-being. Navigating the healthcare system and trying to make important decisions for our health, or for those we take care of, can feel daunting, stressful, and scary. Our therapists are trained in palliative and end of life care as well as oncology and utilize a variety of techniques, including meaning-centered therapy, to help you unpack the complexities of illness.

Women’s issues

  • Drawing on both lived and professional experiences, our therapists help our female identifying clients manage their moods, build self-esteem, and provide a relatable and safe space to make sense of their identities. Whether it is navigating work, fertility, parenting, body image, miscarriages, or relationships, our therapists are experts in these issues.

Grief & loss

  • Whether it is the loss of a parent, beloved pet, or a former identity following cancer treatment, we believe loss is loss. Grief counseling is a dedicated space for you to process and make sense of this transition. We utilize a variety of modalities, including meaning centered therapy, cognitive restructuring, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you process grief. Our therapists also have experience providing support around anticipatory grief to caregivers who have partners or family members who are at or nearing end of life.
